I thought you had it set up that way when I was just starting to register. and was guessing you had some script in place to keep the two connected via cookies or something. ANYWAYS not important.
I posted my contribution to the registration procedure. feel free to do with it as you wish.
You need stuff explained why the wording was made let me know PMe |

LOGIN to the MAIN in order to LOGIN the SUPPORT ( i know now that it's not the case) I understand that the 2 system are seperate. So does that mean in order to register in the support forum you must be logged in the MAIN randomizer 1st?
Either way i am logged in the main one, yet the support forum doesn't recognize that i am logged in from the main one. The only options that are AVAILABLE to me is the ones below:
Home :: Help :: Search :: Login ::

What you're describing here is the forum, NOT the main one. Look at the URL when you are viewing that. I'm pretty sure it says http:// support.random-image.net. That's not what I mean by the "main" one. By the main one I mean http://www.random-image.net (which I'm pretty sure you have logged into before). On the main one, it should say "Welcome [your username]". If it doesn't, log in by going here: http://www.random-image.net/?action=login . If/when you are logged in, you are looking on the MAIN site (not on the forum!) for a form to register on this forum with.
I never said anywhere that you have to log into MAIN to log into SUPPORT I said you had to be logged into MAIN in order to register for the first time on SUPPORT...

| K.I.S.S. principle don't over state the obvious. | Posted By Red (30th Mar 10 at 10:19am) | What i meant was in order LOGIN one must of Course REGISTER. hence no need to state "one must register to log in"
the 2nd post I made, was an edit to the P.S. i removed the " in the main one "
What you have in place is fine itself to accomplish what you want to do. locking the SUPPORT so only the ones with an account can actually have a say on things.
you just need work on tell us the users what you actually did. I know some coding and this threw me off a bit. imagine to simple users who wouldn't take too much time or hassle to do this and just forget the whole thing and not bother trying.
P.S. yes i just figured it out.
Suggestion: 1. have a register link on the VERY top of your menu options BUT have it link to your LOGIN of the MAIN. so it will still be visible in the actual "Log in" box of the Support, when they get informed and find out that the 2 systems are not connected.
2. Reduce the words in your SUPPORT Register page:
Welcome! to the Support Board; the Registration to this Board is @ the {MAIN} Randomizer, when you Log in. -----THERE WILL BE A [Create an account on the support forum!] BOX, when you log in the MAIN.
(((Add picture if you want, remember the theory of a GUI?)))
Account Validation will take a couple of days to be sent to your Email; Please be patient. ^_^
3.Adding different background colors on the [Create an account on the support forum!] makes it stand out and see that it's not associated with the main (in a way). same colors at a browse make it seem they are the same thing. i.e. IN the same forum/system

| Re: I can't make an account here | Posted By frufru (29th Mar 10 at 10:08pm) | Sorry... I did not intend this to be difficult What I wanted to do was make it so that an account on the support forum can be immediately (and always) associated with a randomizer account so that if they had account-specific problems I wouldn't have to prompt for too much additional information before the user can get help. Did you figure this out now? If you have any suggestions for how this process could be done better I'd like to hear them... I didn't quite get what you're trying to say with that previous post. Where exactly are you referring to when you are saying "obviously you have to Register in the main one to Log in; therefore needs not to be stated."? |

WHY? = the REGISTER is not on the menu options like the rest (DISABLED) <( the only way is thru the {MAIN} Randomizer.)>
THERE WILL BE A [Create an account on the support forum!] BOX, when you log in the MAIN.
Quick EXPLANATION: 2 forums separate; but must log in the 1st {MAIN} on to REGISTER & Access the {SUPPORT} (why? = obvious you must have account to get support)
SO... (you can skip this part) 2 DIFFERENT Forums {MAIN} = Must register to access service. {SUPPORT} = Must REGISTER @ MAIN to get to ACCESS/USE http://support.random-image.net
Welcome! Thank you for your interest in registering for the support board! We have set up our registration system so that users of the image randomizer service can easily register on here, but to do that, direct registrations on here have been disabled. When you log in to your account on the randomizer service, there will be a form on there that will easily allow you to create an account on this forum. If you do not have an account, please register one now. It is fast, and easy!
Please post here if you encounter any problems.

The main randomizer site (http://www.random-image.net) and the support forum (http://support.random-image.net) have two separate registration systems but are integrated in the best way I feel possible. In order to create an account on this forum make sure you are logged into the main randomizer site (which you already seem to be), go to the home page, and there you should see a form near the top for creating an account here. That is the only way to register for an account on this support forum. Registering on the main randomizer site does not automatically register you on this forum. |

But when click the [Support Forum] Icon I can't make a post in the http://support.random-image.net/board/suggestions
And when i use the http://support.random-image.net/action/login It says: " The user ___ does not exist " and there's no [REGISTER] in http://support.random-image.net/board/support??
I have no idea what to do....

I'm not really sure what the problem here is. You need to have created an account on my main site http://www.random-image.net in order to register for an account on this forum, as this site says: http://support.random-image.net/action/register
Now firstly if you have a suggestion it would go here: http://support.random-image.net/board/suggestions And the site http://support.virtualforums.co.uk is the support forum for the Virtual Forums message board service. That's not my forum, so please don't post your suggestion on there unless the suggestion relates to the forum itself... |

| Can't Register In the Forum unable to Post | Posted By Red (22nd Mar 10 at 6:20am) | When i try To post here http://support.random-image.net/ It gives me a Login Option, Which I have to register since the Forum and the Randomizer is a different service. But every time i Click register (which is only available in the HOME PAGE not in the Login sequence). I get diverted to this site http://support.random-image.net/action/register
NOW i found out you have MULTIPLE support site which i have no idea which one to use to post my suggestion?!!! http://support.random-image.net/board/support http://support.virtualforums.co.uk/

I can't find the form to make an account here on support.
Hi, if your username is "flyoffacliff" then the database indicates that you have clicked the "Hide" link on the register form on your account. To show it again, go to the "Profile" section in your randomizer site account and find the link at the bottom of the page. Then you should see the form again on your homepage. |
