I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but apparently my randomized signature has exceeded its max hits... by a lot, and seemingly without reason. Normally it doesn't receive anywhere near 2,000 hits a day (it only sometimes exceeds 100, even), but today it claims I have had over 67,000 hits in the past 24 hours. When I saw that the max hits had been exceeded I went to check my randomizer and saw that it had 60,000 hits on it in the past 24 hours, and was extraordinarily confused as to how this could happen so suddenly. After just a few short minutes, that number increased to over 67,000. How this could possibly happen is beyond me... I'm not using it anywhere that it would generate that much traffic, but when it now says it has had 68,325 hits (yep it just went up again..) in the past 24 hours, but 70,398 in the past month... that seems more than a tad suspect to me.
I'm hoping that you can investigate this problem for me so that it won't continue to occur and cause me problems. Like I said, I don't use it anywhere that it would generate that much traffic and I'd really like to be able to continue using it... So I am hoping that this can be fixed.
Thanks,

Hi,
I will look into it, but it may take some time simply because of the large # of hits the site receives. I'll post here when I have more info.
Hi,
From some of the log so far I've noticed that a lot of the hits are coming from http://s11.zetaboards.com/Dragons_of_the_Sword/topic/7330138 /1/ . Unfortunately I do not have permission to see this topic, but is it possible that it has gotten more hits lately than expected?
That's the only place I use it, but I am absolutely certain it can't be getting that many hits from there. When it normally receives 100-200 hits from there per day, and then out of the blue receives over 60,000... well, yeah, it seems to me like something's up.![]()
EDIT: I mean the board itself is the only place I use it from. Also, after clicking that link.. I found that the specific page is a topic that is only viewable by Mods on the forum, so there's absolutely no way it could be generating that number of hits in a single day. The topic itself only has a little over 100 views total, even.

Hi,
Apologies for the lack of response lately. I've just moved and my new place didn't have Internet yet.
Well it doesn't look like your randomizer is having the issue anymore. I couldn't determine a cause from the access logs from the server so I've added a script that will log the IP and referrer of future accesses to that randomizer in question, in the event that something like this happens again. Note that I won't be monitoring this log, and I will only check it if issues are brought up. No sensitive information will be collected.
Sorry about not being able to give you more information about the current issue. Please don't hesitate to let me know if it occurs again.
